Polytar is a scalp cleanser containing a tar blend, designed to treat scalp-related conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, and dandruff. The main ingredient, coal tar, helps reduce itching and has mild antibacterial properties. It also breaks down keratin, a protein that forms part of the skin structure. When keratin accumulates excessively, it can lead to tight, swollen skin and the buildup of scales. Tar-based keratolytic agents help reduce this excess keratin buildup. All products in the Polytar range contain tar.
